On a fine Monday morning , thankfully cooler than of late , nine of us completed a 4.5 mile walk from the church at Slaugham.

We passed the ruins of Slaugham Place to reach Slaugham Manor, now luxury apartments.

We walked along the edge of Slaugham Mill Pond to eventually reach Warninglid and having crossed Cuckfield Lane visited the tea party in the woods ( picture ) which has been there for many, many years in one form or another.

We returned to the church along a different bank of the mill pond, passing the site of the source of the River Ouse (imagination required as it was dry!).

An excellent lunch was taken at the Plough at Lower Beeding .
