The second session of petanque took place on the 27th August at HSCP, albeit with reduced club numbers, but boosted by Jim, President of Horsham District, and his wife Judy.

The rain stopped just 5 minutes before the 18 players stepped on to the pitches, and everyone enjoyed several hours in the sunshine, disputing who was nearest the cosh, and lacking in a tape measure, handspans, footsteps, etc were used to convince the assisting judges in deciding who got the points.

After match tea, coffee & cakes were greatfully received. Manager Russ and his helpers then adjudged that Secretary Dave & Elaine, were the 'best' on the day.

That leaves the organiser with a dilemma, since the 'best' in the first round weren't present, so the trophies will have to shared - six months each!
